Karate

Many years ago karate was a way of life. It was used by oppressed people as a way to defend themselves and what they believed in as they were forbidden to carry weapons. Daily they would practice set routines with farm tools or their bare hands. Nowadays karate has become a sport and leisure activity and no longer regarded as a matter of life and death. Halstead's classes are all geared to cater for whatever the student would like to get from their training.

Stowupland Class

Just about anyone who wants to can do it. Men, women and children of all ages can participate in karate, Halstead even runs his Naughty Ninjas class for 4 to 6 year olds.

Stowupland Class

You will learn practical and effective self-defence techniques, basic and dynamic kicks as well as strikes and punches. You will also be taught throws and leg sweeping techniques and how to block and avoid attacks. Also included in your training will be the EKKA karate katas, which are the traditional patterns of karate moves traditionally passed down as a way of teaching karate through the generations.

In addition to this your general fitness and stamina will improve and flexibility will increase. Halstead also trains and prepares students for competitions and belt gradings. So, as you can see, there is something for everyone!
